I feel we need this thread to dispell any threads that come on and are not true. We can refer back to this when someone says i have heard this.

1, You will not need to do a 2 day refresher to update your scaffold card.

Celticbhoy, as far as we are aware there are no plans for existing scaffolders (Part 2) and Advanced Scaffolders to refresh their cards.

Inspection cards will need to be refreshed though after five years with a one day course.

Scaffolding Urban Myths

1) You will be paid a fair days wage,for a fair days work

2) You are the life-blood of any Agency and as such will be treated fairly and with respect

3) The H&S officer on site will have an in depth knowledge of scaffolding when he attemps to show you the errors of the job you are errecting

4) Lodge will be paid on all jobs that opperatives cannot be expected to travel too on a daily basis

5) daily travel will be paid taking into account expense and time taken

6) All construction workers will speak and understand English to comply with H&S legislation and site specific instructions

had this the other week were the standards were in the inside of the ledger and not the outside was told it was easier when strikeing iam all for something thats easier but have never myself done standard inside the ledger myself wonder how many forget to swap it on second lift any body got a saw:laugh:
