What kind of weight can the point and chain take?.

The Chain may not be the weakest link.
The bolt supporting the dropper is around 12mm with around a 12kN SWL.
That said there is no secondary fail safe (check coupler) should bolt fail. so not sure it is a suitable suspension point.
As a secondary thought

If the whole thing is capable of being hung from the top bolt as detailed, why do you need the bridge clamps between the plates? when a simple bolt would appear to be adequate?

is the component to hold 2 standards at the wrong end together?

What about the links on the chain stretching under load?. What if the 'd' shakel give way?.as alan mentioned, wheres the 2nd system in case of failure.
