How often do you build any of the following without a design drawing?

no good haveing a drawing when the standards go inbetween the staircase unless standards can float in thin air or theres a bloody great valve where the ledgers go ect ect but they all get built in the end atlest the gezzer that does the drawing gets hes 500 600 quid even thou he dont allow for obstructions do what you did years ago if you ante sure bung some extra tube in lol!!!

Dico I too remember those days. Do you see steel erectors building without a drawing, the answer is no, everything is evaluated and put onto drawings for your own piece of mind. Its the same with scaffolding bud i'm affraid. This is because most companies are now run via insurance companies. 1 f*** up and it will cost you very dearly, is it worth taking the risk anymore?
Nar is it F@@K sit down enjoy an hamlet while you get everything in place and cover thi own arse. go home and get back on here for a good old moan...
just too many ups and downs with the job all the time.....LOL....

Correct SSS,you wont see any form of structure going up without a drawing. Define scaffolding and its purpose generally. Is it a permanent structure? Its a tempory structure to enable others to work in comfort and fit for purpose. Perhaps its the site /project managers that need the courses on safe use. Clamp down on overloading, removal of ties, braces, alterations by brickies, laborers etc.Seems everyones an expert on scaffolding except the scaffolder. Great thread as well.
