ever thought of testing the structure / fabric of the building prior to you erecting or designing your works. At least then you can inform your engineer what the average test is an they then can decide if they need to double up ties or use a complete different tie pattern

have done this in past, but not always agreeable with client/customer,when its restoration or on a listed structure as these require information on where they are to be inserted the amount , removal and filling .
