Do you like being a scaffolder if so why ?

Well ! you can't and will not stick to scaffolding if you haven't got these characteristics, a scaffolder is a breed of human with various animal characteristics almost like half monkey🐒 swing about the lifts hanging about the hangers and donkey 🫏 humfing n walking all that gear up hills down rail way embankments into manholes water way tunnels the list goes on, the physical mental ability of a polar bear to endure the cold winters however the three main attributes I say makes the true Scaff is the fundamental basics of these horses the guts and strength of a clydesdale horse, the determination and stamina of a race horse...and the final one that makes you the true Scaff and I'm not ashamed to say the neck and brain of a Rocking horse....

Always loved climbing anything I could clamber up as a kid, still remember being 4-5 years old n climbing about street scaffolds in the part of city I lived in!
Still love the climbing about like a ninja monkey n the physical challenge of the work itself.
Worked on the street for past 25+ years where you learn a lot of wee tricks of the trade...
Eventually got my part 2 n been doing MIA solidly for 2+ years n getting paid a lot better than on the street, best thing I ever done scaff career wise...after the hard slog of street graft MIA on sites using system scaff is like paid retirement!
So just love the climbing n the physical challenge n still do!
After all the problems you have to overcome working on the street site work is so easy!
Mostly talking about 3 lift high kit house sites so usually the only weight I have to worry about supporting is one man plus a brick!
Miss the street work n more varied jobs like chimney stacks n beam work...but not the wages n the harder graft now I'm getting older!
So aye 25+ years n still love it most days 💪🏻👍🏻
