Unqualified erecting system ?

I Did Both Add Ons (Kwikstage And Cuplok) £1000 Lighter But You Need That Creditation On Your Card

We did it and did learn a bit, it's obviously a bit more adaptable than TG20 but when you can build cuplok but can't build Genlok there is a failure in the system somewhere. I know the failure lies with the manufacturers jealously guarding their right to train the end user but it's a failure none the less.

I just wonder how many do Gerscaff? Maybe I'm wrong but has it really taken off up here?
 
sorry lads just reading this thread, just to be clear assesed route of entry advanced scaffolding falsework, i built falsework out of kwikstage and now i am not aloud to erect or dismantle it
 
Its Just A Money Making Scam Mate, To Say To An Advanced Scaffolder Of 30 Odd Years Experience That They Are Not Qualified To Erect Any System, Not Just Cuplok Or Kwikstage Both You And I Know Is Total BS, I Have Been Saying For Donkeys Its The Insurance Companies Calling The Shots.

The Uptake As Far As I Am Aware Is Considerable, You Have Oldies Like Me Who Basically Had To Start Again And Youngsters Who Have Never Handled Any Tube At All And Only Have A System Card.
 
thats a good point,if systems incorporated into ur carded training surely your qualified then to put it up,or thats the arguement lol
 
well i wont be investing in any add on unless it was for double my 8 incher
 
In the past when I've been asked to use Layher or Cuplock not once have I been asked if I have had any formal training in it.

When did it change?
 
Its Not Recognised As Part Of Your Training Course Joe, You Either Do A Tube Course Or A System Course, And If You Do A Tube Course You Must Do The Add Ons In The Appropriate Systems.
 
It's been a while now, we did it last year.

Didn't know you could do a system course now Gerscaff, they have been talking about it for years.

Yes Alister, You Can Do Parts One And Two In System, Thats SGB And Interserve We Have To Thank For This. But There Is NO Advanced System Card. The Timescales For The Svq/Nvq Are The Same Regardless, Same As The Portfolio Exactly The Same As Tube.
 
First I have heard of that one. Wonder what effect that will have on things. I have heard a few employers asking for it, might be a good thing, but little use to me.

You are the very man to answer this one Gerscaff, is there any job you can think off you would rather build from tube or would you always go for system?

i just thought the premise is you do your cards and it covers everthing,i can understand a one day refresher to learn the little bits of system that are different,one day for each different system but if we can learn while doing our cards on system,how can that not mean u are entitled to erect it ?
 
I Would Always Do Saddles In Tube I Fekking Hate Using System On A Roof, Iv Done Trussouts,Hangers, And Most Other Things In System Iv Punched Off Beams Using Kwikstage And Done A Spire In Cuplok, So Most Things But Allways Use Tube For Saddles.
 
part 1 we erect a haki staircase for access mate,layher was used for the trussout,few lads on here were on my course and will verify that,this is whats confusing to me mate,are they segmenting it all now ?

i will sum it up like this,if i do a haki staircase or layher trussout on my part 2 and then get told i cant then erect them on site,i passed my card so whats the problem ?
