Right lads,

I've been thinking recently about working overseas in the Gulf or somewhere similar. Anyone have experience of working in this area? What sort of rotation are we talking about between work and getting home to Blighty? And crucially, is the work there and what sort of money can a British scaff with a broad base of knowledge expect to earn.

Ive been having a look on google and its bringing up some dubious looking results with companies looking suspiciously like agencies.

HSWT, I'm hoping you may have some pearls of wisdom with this one.

Very rarely will you find scaffolding work on the tools except in Australia/NZ if you are lucky enough to get a work visa.
Generally work in Middle East is managing or supervising Asian scaffolders. Rotation just depends. Many jobs will just have 30 days leave per year with flights. Others maybe 12 weeks on with 1 off.
Money will vary. Some people are working long hours for as little as 700 quid a week.
PM Stella Fella or Alan Reade they may be looking. We don't have enough money here to pay the staff we already have.
