Eh? Advertising here (personaly) for 12.50ph undermines what we do. But why should you give a toss anyways? You aint a scaff, your just thinking about lining your own pockets arnt ya.

there was an agencey on here looking for blokes todo site work in pompey and paying 16ph
 
ably resources from glasgow have been sending men down from here 12.50 an hour no travel no digs flat rate 70 hours , boy says he has sent a load of men down , must be desperate at that rate
 
Doomf its not ably for cert. Its just another recruitment agency (not mentioning no names) who dont give a toss about the scaffolding industry or the men that work in it.

If these agencys really cared about our rates then they would not be trying to send men to work for 12.50 an hour. If they all didnt then the client would have to put the rates up. The only reason they do this is because the agencys know there are dummys like pompeyscaff who think we should be grateful for 12.50ph and will save them a contract. If this agency doesnt find any dummys to work for 12.50ph on it, the next one probably will.

no prob gaz sum ppl must be desperate to work they hours at flat rate and still pay digs n travel off it agencys are a joke ive not had the pleasureof working for one yet hopefully never will
 
There ok to use if they are paying good money, in my experiance they do usually pay up ontime. Most wont pay travel money or digs but you can claim all that back at the end of every tax year on a tax return. Alot of them use umbrela companys to pay and they usually take a fee out of the scaffs wages, but that can also be claimed back.

But when they try recruiting people for money like that (and there is mongs that will do it) then it slowly starts to affect us and our future work.
 
Fo those of you out there that are unsure how the umbrela companies work , they recieve your agreed rate from the agency you are working for anf the hours you have work, you then can claim for accommodation, food ,travel ,clothing this they recieve each week from you , they adjust your tax payments each week to reflect your exspenes, But right though crap rate, does any one know which project they require labour for in potrsmouth

The expenses depend if your cis or paye, paye can claim every week, cis every year.
