Welcome To The Forum Johnny, The Construction Industry In The Uk Is Pretty Fekked Just Now, But Keep Looking And Trying, All The Best.

Stay in Canada mate.
I had a chance to move/work there about 5 years ago... turned it down ---> worst mistake of my life.

Id jump at the chance to go there now tbh.
Britain is a shiit hole now. The toilet of Europe.

Have a look at the New's mate Europe's about to go bust. Go to Australia!!!

welcome johnny as the lads have all said britain is not the best place at the mo.you are from nova scotia is there no work offshore or in the yards over there crosby salamis was the big player in the late 90s and early 2000.i knew a guy who went over to run the hibernia field project for the jv with crosby and salamis.
depending on your age australia is probably your best bet but make sure that the cards you have are transferrable as i know that in canada there are a lot who still class themselves as carpenters

Mon Johnny, your forefathers didn't give up as easy as that or you would be house bashing on Sky or similar. With a good Scottish name like that you shouldn't struggle to pick up work in most area's, there has been a wee dip but there is still work if it's the experience you want.
