I must confess I was a little economical with the truth in the above post.
The crash deck, fireproof boards and asphalt are all true. I just forgot to mention that plywood was put on the boards before the asphalt. When it was struck the asphalt and the ply was binned and the boards returned to service elsewhere. They were never cut into sole boards!!!! Still it help spark a lively debate!!

It's Dosher Steve, Dosher the Nosher. He has another job but it's more like a hobby and he loves it. Surprised he admitted to sucking sailors off straight away to be honest.
