Ok what do you think would be good money for?

(A) Working local
(B) Working away no digs
(C) Working away digs provided.

No as av just taken on...perhaps need to start another thread ...but was wondering whilst we all want as much as we can get.what you as a pt1 thought was an exceptable day rate for your experiance & qualifiation

It's a tough one SP, especially as one asked if I had any contacts to help him get a job down south. I agreed and immediately regretted it as what am I going to say, he is obviously going to be slower than a part 2 and need someone to show him the ropes but he still will be wanting top dollar.

working local about 10.50 an hr as thats what i was on with previous company anyway working away with digs probs 13-13.50 an hr but obviously working away you want the hrs 10 or 12 s a shifts n your wkends lol wishful thinking these days

I know what u mean alister i had a pt1 wanting £130 +van only been in the game 18 months....the problem is i think he really thought he was gonna get it....maybe he will but it wont be with me

ahahahah he was maby worth it lol take it his ither working for ya on less and the yards mans push bike or ya told him to fek right off lol

Nah marra...am waiting for the paperwork to come through with the intention of taking on a school leaver on a full funded apprentiship instead

Perhsps im a little bhind with the rates but i think these are fair
Pt1@£100
Pt2@£120-125
Adv@£135

No doubt have left myself open to a load of abuse now lolo but we're a small company not a multinational & most days we're on the way home by 3ish....just think too many guys think thetre worth more than they are & maybe its these fellas that do all the moanin about being outta work

I reckon a ton is a bit much for a new part 1. I did it once for a guy but when he told me he used to work for Morrisons, I thought he meant the builder not the fekin supermarket.:embarrest: He stayed with us for a while and it turned out he was worth his cash but not for his scaffolding skills as he couldn't scaffold a phone box but he was a grafter and made up for any short comings. I reckon it all depends man too man.

Lolol couldnt agree more alister but down here ud be hard pushed to get one for less then£100 otherwise its the olde could get more on benifits syndrome

Depends on age as well obviously. You will get your eyes opened when you see the recommended wage scale for the apprentices.

Don't expect me to come and graft and kip in your fittings shed when you are snowed under with work if you think a ton is too much.

All you were getting was a nest under the rack for kipping in. Now, if you ever manage to work out how to keep an 8 foot tower standing, we can talk cash.

Is he a part 1 as well? I hope you are good mates as the rack really has only space for 1 but if you cuddle up it should be fine. Maybe better just to get him to give me a call.
