El burro no siempre esta bien especialy en este caso
algunas veces burro es sólo otro nombre para culo

Oh dear. The donkey must be on the blob this week!

Some interesting remarks guys, I am looking in from outside only as a business adviser these days I attend meetings with business owners to guide them through the processes of anything to do with health and safety to obtaining better standards in the workplace, I am on several business forums and normally find them very enlightening and informative as well as professional.
There seems to be a lot of distrust and childish banter on here so how about a bit of understanding that companies such as Mitchell's (and there are lots like them) are really trying to make things work the best they can.
I hope you guys can raise the level on here as it seems like a useful forum

if mitchells are such a great company as you seem to proclaim, why are the new starts not being taken on PAYE,and not self employed.
how can you also make these statements about the company, based on what their web site.they are hardly going to highlight the fact that they pay ***** money and this is a scaffolders forum most but not all are scaffolders on the tools who only care about making a bit of cash for theur familys, but also try to highlight the scabby ***** who are out to make themselves rich off of our sweat.
if you dont like the childish banter dont come on the site:mad:

In fairness I don't think Mitchells handled the whole situation very well.

For a start, wage negotiations are better kept private between the potential employer and employee.

Secondly, the individual 'took the bait' at the first critisism and tried to fight back with sarcastic retorts, which (her appalling grammar aside) only caused further fury and mocking from the SF faithful.

Lastly, this is a scaffolders forum mate - Expect a large degree of childish banter....

I was going to put up a case for Mitchells but then I realised it was a self employed vacancy. Surely if you want to invest in the employees and further there training etc. and expect some loyalty, then at least make a commitment to employ them paye. then £10.00 an hour is nearer the norm up here, allowing for nearly 6 weeks holiday etc.

With due respect your head appears to be well up your own Ars*

The clue is in the title of the Forum......Scaffolders

As you have no knowledge of Scaffolders or scaffolding, apart from a few pictures in a training manual you may have read.I suggest you take your advice on how we conduct our affairs on this board and shove it as far up your jacksey as possible.

You may be able to waffle your way to a few quid with your business clients.... But on this board the members work at the sharp end of the scaffolding game and we can spot a tosser a mile away

BEST REGARDS :toung:

I don't agree with all you say Rigger, but I do like your style.:D

i am now retired from the construction industry but am involved with mentoring small companies and have read all your comments about mitchell's scaffolding and apart from the one very sensible comment i am not surprised at how ignorant some of you are. Companies like mitchell's are rare, i have taken the time to look them up and ask questions, they are switched on to making sure their staff are well trained, they are out there in these hard times pulling in contracts that will ensure continued work and never stop looking to improve, it's a small family run business that has seen run up against all the usually problems any small company has to contend with but people who really know them will tell you how hard they work, to be in business these days is not easy and to have regular work coming in is an achievement and yes it's not top pay but is there every week and the lads are well looked after and appreciated, if you have any doubts just ask them, how many of you making these comments have bothered, answer none.
yes very rare in deed pullman (as in very rare a company takes the pi** as much as mitchells , decent firms pay decent wages, even if it is a regular wage it won't go far, for many to survive on for long. Appreciation in any job is normally through a decent wage and bonuses not a pat on the back. Retired you say, probably loaded by advising mitchells to put all lads as self employed and pay them poor wages, all while charging them a small fortune!

I have to agree with Phil181 to a degree as Mitchell's should have not taken the bait.
However you guys do get a little hot under the collar that someone with over 40 years experience in the construction industry should have the nerve to voice his opinion, ahhh what a shame. I know who I would prefer to recommend to my clients for their scaffolding contracts and it would not be the children doing such a responsible job.

i think they posted them rates for, us to get a rise from it,
