How bad is it out there?

Been scaffolding for twenty seven years, running my own company since 1998.
Never been as busy as I am now.

Prices aren't fantastic, but if you can find continuity, and have honest hard working lads with you, it is possible to pull through this bad spell were going though.

I will also take this opportunity to publicly thank all the lads that work for me (I know a few of them are on the forum) for all their hard work and long hours in the last few weeks. It is very much appreciated.

nice touch marra cna i come work for ya all i need is a pat on the back dont want paying ;)

One of my recent employers wanted the employee's to thank him for keeping them employed.

yo didnt work in west cumbria thats what my gaffer exact saying :laugh:

Any company is only ever as good as the men it employs . but also it takes good management to win work and provide constant decent work for the lads .

True, there is plenty in London areas at the moment, but as others have said rates are crap, and a lot of this is temporary work.

Still, it's a **** / inexperienced scaffolder who doesn't recognise that nine times out of ten, If you pay monkey money then you get a monkey job"!
