Job Title: Scaffolder
Location: Based at Sarah Cutting Ltd Head Office currently located at Unit 20, Walkham Business Park, Burrington Road, Plymouth
Responsible to: Sarah Cutting and Michelle Davies
Job purpose: To carry out all aspects of work in relation to erecting and dismantling scaffolding
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Check requirements from drawings and written instructions, select materials and set ground levels
· Erect scaffolds and towers according to work allocated to you as per your timesheet,
· To carry out all works to a high standard and ensure in strict compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and any other relevant legislation covering safety in the workplace for yourself and others
· Attend ad hoc jobs as required by the Company at any time during the working day
· Dismantle scaffolding on completion of a job
· Inform the Company if any board/tube/fitting is found to be unsafe or unusable
· Assist in loading and unloading vehicles to a safe load
· To drive Company vehicles as required and in accordance with Company policy
· Ensure a scafftag is completed and attached to the scaffolding once it has been safely completed
· Work towards CISRS certification
· Complete a daily timesheet
· Wear all relevant PPE at all times
· Compliance with any other reasonable request of the Company to assist business efficiency
· Compliance with Company policy and procedures
Requirements
The post holder will require a high level of all the essential skills/knowledge/qualifications as detailed below and preferably also those classed as desirable:
Essential
· Good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift, work at heights and in differing conditions
· Ability to work efficiently, effectively, courteously and diligently, particularly when working on domestic properties
· Ability to organise and plan all works with view to meeting deadlines
· Ability to understand technical drawings, plans and data
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Good communication skills, verbal and written, including client liaison
· Ability touse and operate a range of tools, instruments and equipment associated with the trade
· Ability to work in a safe manner and implement all safety practices
Effective team player
Desirable
· CISRS card
· Part 1 or Part 2 Scaffold card
Driving licence
We welcome applications from experienced scaffolders only.
Wage is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during interview.
Hours of work between 8am and 4.30pm but due to the nature of the industry you are required to be flexible to meet business needs.
