It does bring into doubt the whole training and assessment procedure. However we always used to try and help the ******* out and didnt get them sacked. Thats the bosses job to find out he has employed sub-standard men and deal with it.
 
Hi hantsscaff when i first started i could,nt fault the company they had lots of work i was doing nights for 6 months then the olympics came and work dryed up that,s when they start using there local lads and only want you when they need you or if your face fits,if you argue with them you got no work pretty childish.
I,ve had one 12 hour shift off them since xmas but had a phone call of them on friday to go and work in bristol then devon after that but who knows after that ?.
If you got a steady job then i would stay there mate or your be chasing work all the time.
Who did you get offered a job from on hadleys ?.
 
Ok mate cheers was an old mate of mine from Kent way hes going on for them was on about work staying away over the West Country and wales too. I'll take your advice and steer clear tho.
 
Who did he talk to about getting a start and where in wales was he going to work was it cardiff shrewsbury ?

In a month or so mate not sure apparently he worked for them before ill find out for you mate.

I had to sort out a job they done which was basic scaffolding mate, at the end if the day I didn't get them the sack they done that themselves. There supervisor was the one that said they were sh*t I just agreeded. Im not one to get anyone the sack within reason, but I can't stand sorting out other scaffs sh*t work that should be done first time.
 
Instead of slating the fella for getting someone the sack for not being able to do the job they're paid for, think about it this way....if one of these blokes put a poor job up and one of ur friends or family are working on it and it say collapses and they die would u be happy knowing a decent Scaff didn't say anything so some muppet didn't lose the job he can't actually do.

It still brings the whole training and qualification process in to doubt. Its demoralising to find people who can't do the job they hold a qualification in getting paid the same or even more than you.
This whole NVQ and assessment process was supposed to qualify people with a proven ability to do the job whether its scaffolding. hairdressing or making a cup of tea.
Amazing to find out it has been a disaster especially when the people who brought the scheme in effectively made experienced scaffolders with ECITB cards labourers again!
Maybe they need to think again.
