50 scaffolders required Australia

Aye they prob work for next to fek aw too but ehh?

Certainly in some countries their rate will be low compared to UK rates but a great rate compared to what they might earn in their own counties. What UK scaff wouldnt work abroad for 10 times what they could earn in the UK.
In Australia they would be paid the project rates--its the law.

Aye well if theyv nae cards its no fair relly tho ehh hswt??? Its a joke tbh.

CISRS cards only apply to the UK. Not recognised anywhere else in the world. Most will have done a replica CITB course and have been verified by a 3rd party. Those who get to Oz will have to do the Aussie course same as a Brit so its the same for all.

Kaizer79, I'm sorry but I don't think you know what your talking about!! These guys have had Scaffolding in their back gardens for the past 40+years & they are not doing front & Backs of terrace houses to make their money if not at home where they have Oil & Gas refineries, They are on some of the biggest jobs in the world, Can you say that on your CV???

I think people forget we are all out to earn money if someone offered me more money elsewhere id be off like a shot these guys are the same and fair play to them for doing it.

Yeah its true the CISRS card is only favorable as its UK.......and the UK set the standards but most of the labour in the middle east work to TUV certs or like your man said 3rd party approved.... I was on the Saudi Aramco site and they didn't accept my card so had to do the tuv course to inspect there jobs.......... Horses for courses & cards for countries!

these guys , scaffolding in their back garden for 40 years , what you on about ? they are on the biggest jobs in the world , by they you must mean cheap labour , with a british gaffer running them , Kaizers cv while not having work outside of britain , has the biggest jobs in Britain.

They earn 10 times what they would in their own countries. that would make that 11 quid an hour at that place in Ayrshire 110 quid an hour.

And even on those figures, after 40% tax, that would leave £66, so these guys are doing really well if they can get it.

One thing i did learn from controling a number of different nationalities in Ruwais 12 years ago, was that Indians and Pakistanis will mostly listen to you telling them that what they have erected is wrong and just go back and do it agai. Fillipinos have to be approached a little more delicately and the Nepalese take it as a personal attack on their honour if you so much as mention that what they have produced is wrong. The first few times that i did it, they wouldn't speak for a few days afterwards, but i soon learnt to blame myself or someone else and say that unfortunately the requirement had been altered and that the new spec required whatever it was that i acutally wanted.

Great scaffolders though, together with most of the Fillipinos and a good few Indian and Pakistani guys and probably between 15-20% of the total, would easily hold their own in the UK.

Good summary jonnyoneye. The Nepalese can be a bit sensitive. The Indians are the most compliant. I actually found the Pakistanis the most difficult due to the constant disappearing for prayer which upset the others. Of course having all 3 nationalities together could sometimes erupt in disagreements.

Certainly a lot of the Filipinos and Nepalese could hold their own in the UK. The most sensitive in my opinion are the Aussies and Kiwis. Maybe due to the strong union influence and the dislike of authority.
