when I first started I touched with all the transoms "to take the shake out" got contra charged for a brickie to change the damaged bricks. after that i kept all the transoms off the wall to stop the scaffold rash. on the returns i'd put a cap with a piece of foam behind it to take any sway out .also i'd leave extra clearance behind the loading bay otherwise the wall behind it would get pushed over by the telehandler throwing the bricks and mortar on. i know this doesn't help you with your current problem but hopefully it will save you some grief and money in the future
