Scaffolders Confederation for Consultation Rights.

We are representing the Industry from the Scaffolders perspective. Helping the ECITB & non CISRS scaffolder to stay in the Industry. Also working with the HSE to develop working guidelines that can be used in everyday Scaffolding. The latest project developing new technology.

The SCCR wants all scaffolding companies to become members.

The aim is to create a level playing field.

Aims for 2011:

Get scaffolding recorgnised as a skilled trade.

Help its members develop into profesional companies.

Improve the training process. Including proper assessments on your skill & knowledge so you enter the scheme at the appropriate level.

Simplyfiy Health & Safety so its workable & practible, ban the step up!

With the above in mind we need to split the industry into sectors

Domestic
Industrial
Offshore
Specialist

We have already opened up regular meetings with the HSE.

CISRS is next on the agenda & Unite when they talk to me!! Then the CITB.

We have sponsors offering our company membership deals on Insurance & Legal maters.

Our indervidual members have deals on workwear (setting up) & legal advice.

All this in six months.

Lets get the membership up & become a bigger voice along side the NASC so they have to think about changing their ways!!!

An industry body should not be an exclusive club!!!

SCCR Chairman

I will now get off my soap box
