Firemen have always done that sort of thing , I suppose it depends on the situation if they can't get hold of the company and if it's pretty straight forward to pull apart

Look at the scaffold for goodness sake. With the access equipment they had sitting on the street I'm surprised that they took nearly 3 hours - I suspect that most of the time was spent ringing round trying unsuccessfully to find the company that put it up.
Fire fighters have to deal quickly with lots of situations in and around buildings where you could say why didn't they get the roofers/bricklayers/demo guys in and I'd be more inclined to say thank you to them for dealing with the problem and getting on to their next job rather than sitting on their back sides saying 'not my job mate' while the right guy is brought in.
Maybe I am wrong in that view and I should be more like a British Leyland shop steward?
