Ken Bridges of Yeasterton Scaffolding Services has asked us to post this advert.

This great company is expanding and is after additional staff.

“We are after 5 youngsters to become scaffold labourers. The work is hard, and pay isn’t great, and if the job doesn’t kill you, chances are you’ll end up with crippling back pain and arthritis.
Applicants ideally should have no driving license, no qualifications and no ability to read or write beyond text speak. They should have little motivation to achieve anything or do any work, despite signing up to one of the toughest jobs in the industry. A phone which is ignored when we try to contact you, but is always out when you should be working, would aid an applicant in this process. During your initial probationary period, we will be looking out for signs that you have what it takes to become a Scaffolder, such as asking us first thing in the morning ‘what time are we finishing today’, as well as only carrying 1 tube at a time.

An alcohol and/or drug addiction is not essential, but would certainly help.

Anyone deciding to stick it out will be repeatedly told for the next 3 years that we will put you through your tickets to become qualified, despite having no intention of doing so.”
