Class 2 Driver / Yard Operative
CROYDON HIRE & SALES BRANCH
We are looking to recruit a Class2 Driver/ Yard Operative at our Croydon Branch within the Hire & Sales Division of our Company.
Working hours: 40 per week
Competitive Salary.
Company Benefits, Group Pension Scheme, Profit Share Scheme
Candidates must have full CPC Certificate along with a clean driving licence.
Forklift Licence would be preferred but not essential.
Job Description
To operate company vehicles up to the limitations of a class 2 licence in a safe and competent manner.
To operate a lorry mounted crane in a safe and competent manner – must have a current crane operator’s licence.
To be responsible for ensuring safe loading, transportation and delivery / collection of goods.
To carry out manual tasks involved with the loading and unloading of equipment from vehicles.
To identify and quantify company materials involved in deliveries and collections.
To ensure that accurate records are maintained for the vehicles. E.g. Daily check sheets, tyres and fluid levels, digital tachograph records, delivery/collection notes etc.
To assist in yard duties when not involved in driving which may involve loading and unloading of company and customer vehicles.
To follow all Health & Safety directives from the company.
We have estimated the mileage to be an average of 190km per day. This may sometimes be as much as double but sometimes may be as little as 25km or less depending on the business needs
Full compliance with driving hours and other current transport regulations and CPC Certification.
Communication with office / yard staff / customers.
