NASC Publishes 2014 Scaffolding Safety Report ScaffMag - The Scaffolding Magazine

The NASC has launched its 2014 Safety Report which documents the statistics for scaffolding accidents for all (201) NASC full contracting member companies in 2013, covering some 13,749 operatives (estimated to be around 75% of the UK’s total scaffolding operatives).

75%? I don't think so.:laugh::laugh:

75% :laugh: where did they dig them figures from , a car park in the north east :laugh:

Do they mean their 201 member companies have 13,749 employees and that is 75% of the UK's scaffolding population? Hmmmm... last I heard there was more like 60K scaffolders in the UK... unless they mean there are only 351 scaffolding companies in the UK... must mean that eh!

Of course, these stats will not be including all the H&S incidents amongst non members. It's a pity their report doesn't have comparison stats to illustrate how much safer it is working with NASC member companies.

Having said that,

"The NASC has identified an increase in the number of 7 day incidents involving trainees in 2013. This is currently under investigation by the NASC Health & Safety Committee."

is a worrying statement...
