Usually ride from home to the first job, then bung it on back of the lorry or truck during the day, then ride home at end of the day… my work mates think I'm a bit of a crank for doing it. Some days end up riding 40 miles, but usually its more like 15-20.
With regards to lorries and cyclists... I have been riding in London for years, long before the massive growth in cycling popularity. It is getting a bit ridiculous now the number of people on bikes in London, and I would say a large proportion of them don't really have a clue. Its getting a bit like scaffolding really, too many rules and regulations. Then theres the guys with cameras on their helmets posting **** all over YouTube, anyone watched this video??? personally I don't think the lorry driver did anything wrong. He didn't enter the cycle lane

As for Boris and his £200 fine for lorries without cycle safety features, thats just ridiculous. What would happen if everyone affected just said NO??? But that doesn't seem to happen anymore…
When did the tailgate thing become law??? suddenly every scaff lorry I see has a board or some sort of cover on the back.
