Treehouse scaffolding challenge !

HSWT - wind ur neck in & stpp acting like a know it all prick!!

Where abouts in hampshire are u & can you put a pic on here it may make for a better response. I love shiiit like this we did 1 for a m8 many years ago
But 4get about a base plate it wont work youd be better off with a 5' tube fixed @ 90dg about 1'from the bottom - this allows the tube to settle accross the base of the pond & use a screw u head to support the bough...but tbh u could prob do it all in timber, spuring or pulling back..keep us updated lol

While he is building his tree house he can dangle a rod and line into the pond. Probably won't be as easy to get a bite as it is on here though.;)

So - day 2 of the great treehouse challenge.
I am enjoying this forum!
Thanks very much for all your input and questions.

In answer to some of which:
(1) I live in deep countryside in west Hampshire, miles from anywhere, I'm afraid.
(2) I've posted a design sketch in a 'treehouse' album connected to my profile. (Or I think I have).
(3) thank you havespannerwilltravelbutnotveryfar for the continuing education, now stretching back beyond the industrial revolution to the iron age and beyond. A shame I won't be eligible for the purist company of the British Association of Treehouse Specialists, but I suspect I wouldn't quality anyway, not being a member of the English Defence League. Hey ho.

Its a windup. Aint it. How about atower round the tree, truss out under the branch and spurs to keep tube out of the pool. Or cut the branch off

This is the age of CAMERA PHONES . for fcuk sake...

If this is not a p!ss take then upload a photo of the said branch and we can see your dilema.

Otherwise .

Go boil your head. If you dont have a clue how to support it anyhow. You wont have a clue how to build the tree house ...

P!ss take all over... Or a dumb sh!t that will kill someone doing what he shouldn't be doing...

If he has a tree with a branch that size in his garden then he can afford to employ a company to build him the tree house...

i used to work as an apprentice treehouse builder before i got into Scaffolding i loved the work as i was all over the country but sadly it all came to an end in 1989 3 years into my Trade.
YOU GUESSED IT THE SHUT MY BRANCH,TREEHOUSES ONE DAY HABITATS FOR WELDERS THE NEXT CE SERA ;)

Get a 2 inch core cutter and drill parallel lines through the trunk, insert butts with 6 inches spare each end and punch or spur your tree house from them.
The tree will get over it

Me and a mate made a hammock for his garden using two ring bolts drilled into opposing walls. Worked a treat.

Two thoughts on this.
1/ if your going to make a tree house then surport the branch by connecting it to the trunk of the tree as part of the stucture of the tree house.
2/ or if you want to use scaffolding then surport the tree house with the scaffolding and let tree grow around/through or as part of it.
id be careful about holding up a branch with a tube as the wind will move the tree about and the tree is still growing so at some time it will need re-doing.
will be interesting to see what you come up with and post a photo!
good luck.

I think the name "teegee" gives it away. Possibly a clever adaptation of TG from the much loved TG20:08 soon to be TG20:13.
I suspect one of our other members who recently left the forum and had his account closed.
Still it relieves the tedious boredom whilst sheltering from the heat.;)

Hey everyone, whilst were on the subject of scaff for a treehouse, I was thinking, I want to build a living room over a lake...what would be the best way to do this?

:)

Use 1m hollow cylindrical piles, keep smashing them down until you hit rock. Cut off the excess pile and fill with concrete. Build your frame and away you go.

I was under the impression that the newly released TG45:13 recommends suspending living rooms on wires or cables only up to 20 m2 floor area. What is the size of the living room?

The 20 m2 floor area was only included in TG45:13 by mistake by someone who thought the rest of the world lived in rabbit hutches like the British.. This was superceded by ENTG45:13 which allows for living rooms up to 130m2 to be suspended from wires or cables.

Do you need an design or can anyone suspend a living room over a lake however they decide?

forget the tg45 and the ent ******** do it the old skool way and just let the standards float.
OR YOU COULD JUST GET AN AQUARIUM IN YOUR BASEMENT AND TAKE AWAY THE FLOOR BOARDS REPLACED BY REINFORCED GLASS;)
