what the slang then guys use in the scaffolding trade?
or short hand for equipment
 
tranny - transom
barny rubble - double
pigs ear - single/clip/half wrap
base plate - labourer
hemp/skarf/topper - the next vertical tube.
temp roof - lid
***** clip/ fanny wrap - single coupler that resembles the Labia Majora

thats just a few…
 
pontoons - 21s

sticky willies - hideous doubles from the good old days

norfolk broads - 4 ft brds

bones / easyfix - transom units

spiders - forged double that can pinch fix to steel ( temporarily of course :blink1:)

egyptians - board retaining clips

cpt cook - mills hook

Scaffs ladder - two fittings 2ft apart on std to aid access to next lift
 
Purley way - sway
Billy idol - bridle
Temporary secretary - temp leg
Aunt sally - piece of alli
 
Paddy - 21ft tube. Scottish one, as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong). Somebody once told me it was short for Paddy McGinty (Twinty).
Wing Dings - Wing ties on, for example, a loading bay or buttress.
Bawbag - Labourer.
Yellow Jelly or Yellow Peril - Kwikstage.
Mandy Dingle - Single.
Barney Rubble- Double.
Bawbag - Site Agent.
Bawbag in the Lorry - Driver.

Daisy Roots - Boots
Bawbag in the Range Rover - The Gaffer
 
Bone, Dog- Readylock.
Flapper- Single.
Horse- Tower used for cantilevering out of buildings.

bacon roll - pole
tin can - van
percy (sledge) - wedge
michael (caine) - rain
