Harsco closes Jersey scaffolding business
A building company is to close its Jersey scaffolding department, with the loss of 17 jobs.
Jon Herbert, from Harsco Infrastructure, said the economic conditions meant the firm needed to "refocus its activities".
He said the 17 redundancies "will be made on a phased basis as current ongoing contracts draw to a close".
But he said the firm's equipment hire and sales business in the Channel Islands would trade as normal.
Mr Herbert said: "We are proud to have a long term presence on the Channel Islands and the business is committed to supporting this market in the future."
