ISG Select nASC members only

ISG has announced that it has decided to select NASC members only for its scaffold contracting requirements. Antony Flynn, Head of HSQ&E - Retail at ISG, commented "ISG recognises the NASC as a key driver within the construction industry to ensure scaffolding contractors perform to the highest standards. The safety and delivery sucess of any project is heavily influenced by the calibre of scaffold contractors involved."

The confederation is pleased to welcome this statement from ISG, and will be looking to secure further commitment to use of NASC members only by principal contractors

Obviously this will come into effect.after the Olympics

In other words, if you're not in the NASC, the NASC couldn't give a toss about you. Irrespective if you run a decent company or not

ISG have been working with NASC members for at least the last 2 years we have sent men on their training SMSTS the refresher courses and alike. It was stated then when we asked about entering their supply chain at the end of the day i'm not sure they know how excluding a club NASC is.

ISG will need to re-think their pricing policy. In my recent experience they have awarded contracts to the cheapest and not always the best. Now they are reducing their supply base in scaffolding the NASC members will be able to price with a little more on their margins as they will be working in a limited pricing pool.

This is why the SCCR needs more support from companies as well.

Not being able to tender for jobs because you are not allowede to join your Industry body!!!

One of the reasons we set up the SCCR.

All wrong!!!
