TRAFFIC came to a standstill in Thornbury this morning after a lorry collided with scaffolding.

The lorry was travelling up Thornbury High Street when it became wedged in scaffolding outside the town’s Oxfam charity shop.

The road was closed for three hours while the scaffolding was made safe.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at 11am to the High Street after reports of a lorry colliding with scaffolding, which was outside the Oxfam shop.

"The lorry had become wedged and was holding the scaffolding up. The High Street had to be closed and the scaffolding company came and secured it."
Police said that no one was hurt during the incident.
