hello! where can i find a scaffolding design college? all i know is that is a thre years college ... but does anyone know more informations?

Think you need to speak to Chris eng hello n welcome to forum ;)

Now don't quote me on this but I believe the first thing you are going to require is a HNC in civil engineering most colleges run this course . This I think gives you the basics , I then think you have to have your work passed by a qualified engineer for so many years. I may be wrong but i'm sure one of the designers on here will put you in the right direction

Scaffold Design College

Hi

There is no specific course/ college that does scaffold design. You would need to do an HNC in Civil Engineering with a specialisation in structural engineering.

The other thing you need to learn is AutoCad or some other similar drawing package.

The only other problem is that you would need some training with an experienced scaffold designer as the problems and solutions to scaffolding are different to the design of permanent buildings.

Good luck

Great question, Coming from an electronic engineering background for 10yrs into scaffolding I have found myself wanting to find a way out into something I would find much more interesting and not wanting to work 7 days a week to keep me in the lifestyle I have now got very used too.

Looking at HNC's courses in Civil engineering they are day release and I'm thinking any employer may well not want to employ someone that has to have one day a week off to continue his education on to something he really wants to do. however I do not wish to be doing this when I am over 45 and needs must.

Hi, i am a scaffolder looking at going into the design side of scaffolding, if i was to get the above qualifications in HNC engineering and AutoCad, would i then be able to do the drawings for my firm or would i need to take other steps? any help with this would be great.

Cheers
sean.
