Scaffolders and site managers can now download the latest guides produced by the NASC (National Access and Scaffolding Confederation).

The confederation's TG20:08 ‘Guide to good practice for scaffolding with tubes and fittings’ is becoming standard practice on site and a Toolbox Talk booklet and PowerPoint presentation are now available online.

The TG20:08 Toolbox Talk presentation has been developed to ensure site operatives have been informed and trained on the fundamental differences to 'Basic' scaffold design according to TG20:08 (as opposed to previously BS5973).

This simple PowerPoint presentation is ideal for use by site managers and staff who carry out toolbox talks. The presentation has been designed to last no longer than 20 minutes.

The presentation covers the specific changes to Load Classes/Duty, Boarded Lifts, Façade/Sway Bracing, Plan Bracing, Ties, Building façades and the responsibilities of Employers & Management.

The presentation is free to download from the NASC website, www.nasc.org.uk

The Toolbox Talk pocket booklet is a handy A6 publication (which can be read in conjunction with the presentation) enabling all site operatives to understand on a daily basis the changes they should be implementing.
