Despite what many of you may think were not all bad and a minority of us have a scaffolding background. Now i'll admit in my first 6 months I was a bit of a tw@t and over eager. There must be a few scaffolders on here that i've met in the last three years or so. Just wondering if there are any other H&S people here, or people wanting to move into H&S. Lets face it it can only be good for the industry if you have some kind of background:D

Tufty on here has his own H & S business he used to be a scaffolder so he knows the crack.

I started on the spanners at 17 spent the last 4 years in H&S (22 years). We have 4 lads based round Bristol , Oxford , London and the (South East not sure where he lives). To be honest i'm looking for a move I want to be more hands on working for a scaffold company. Looking at selling up here in Derbyshire and buying a holiday lodge in the somerset , devon area and becoming trailor park trash . Not job related but me and the mrs want a different life style a nice holiday lodge and chilling out . We both love the south coast and its a better life thing more than a career thing . Rule of thumb is I live to live not live to work , which we all know is bloody difficult in the climate at the minute.

dont blame ya , dont think theres a great deal of oppurtunity down that end , like the trailer trash thing , cheap living so long as you like a holiday every january for 7 weeks

Is that a scoob in ya pic ??

Went down the Evo route , had an evo 8 from new got rid of that then got an sti , scoob was the nicest to drive in my opinion , evo cost a fortune to fuel and maintain twas runnin at 400brake tho hence bout 10 to tha gallon

Drivin a vito now days ha ha , tho do fancy an evo 10

paddy - do you still work on the tools

Still on the tools, 32 years for the same company, Only H&S rep/ROES in the whole Group (UK) also only 'Shop Steward' might of got promotion if i wasnt a Union activist.;)

Kind of, I'm responsible for the design and develop safety products - signage, tagging and inspection systems but it is not all dedicated to scaffolding. I find the forum useful for product ideas and getting a better understandig of what the guys at the business end want and need. Also get some good feedback for our new products, not sure how many (if any) have tried them out yet mind :)
