Digs entitlement

Does a company HAVE to pay Dig money?
I've been told I cant get dig money as they dont like employing people who travel far enough to need digs (i drive 60 miles each way but dont get home until 9pm) and also because im only a Lab/Trainee

a company only has to pay digs if they ask you to work in so many mile of there yard each firm has a differnt range kind of like fule alounce.if you are travaling into there raidouse then its a big no. but if you are working out of there raidouse then they have a obligation to sort out your digs........hope this helps

It depends on your contract, if the company is signed up to the CIJC agreement or the NAECI agreement then they have to pay an allowance when your travelling more than a certain amount, but outside of those it would be up to whether its stated in your contract of employment mate
