Hi All

Not scaffolding direct, but know you guys use these sometimes for starting droppers, etc.

Cherry picker fatal accident
A workman died when his MEWP (mobile elevating work platform) overturned as he inspected a railway bridge in Stewarton, Ayrshire.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning, the deceased was employed by a contractor. 14th April 2010.

This is near the place that a train was derailed on 27th January this year.

One of the things we MEWP's is to make sure it has a firm base as they put lots of pressure on the legs.

TAKE CARE OUT THERE:(

tell ya wot chris... he musta been on that rabbit speed selection, tut tut, slow n steady wins the race.....

I went to a job a couple of weeks back where they were starting a bloke just to operate the Cherrypicker.............after the induction he jacked in........said he was "Scared of heights!"

Chris,
(I know how to draw a safe erection, but never put a pole up)

It's a good job you arn't a scaffolder around the Hull area, we use tubes not poles.

Poles or tubes

Hi TAC

Have changed my signature now, are you happy ! LOL

Daz,

I have always agreed with that theory regarding it going over, they say you should attach to the basket's hooking eye just saw you can't climb up and over the handrail barrier whilst working, I must agree it is always temping just to reach that little further.

hiya all, sorry ta hear about the guy falling fa the cherry-picker!,they things should be banned

A workmate and myself nearly toppled a big cherry picker a long time ago, one of the scariest things ever.
Once it stopped bouncing around all we could do is look at each other and laugh our heads off, arse was going like the clappers though.
