Hi Mate

If he gets is nebosh he will get the supervisor card and scaffolding inspection
for free

care to elaborate a bit, i have my advanced card thats up for renewal 08/10 currently studying for nebosh construction with exams 06/10, should have results by 09/10, would i be better off waiting for results from nebosh before renewing advanced card, would prefer a supervisors card, thanks in advance;)

I was lead to believe, if you passed your NEBOSH, within 2 year, you didnt have to do the H&S touch screen test. Never heard of getting a free supervisors card though, IMHO i would renew your card, if and when mate, that is your Bread and Butter plus your NVQ 3 in scaffolding.

As you probably know i am Tech (IOSH) which is a H&S practioner, it has nothing to do with scaffolding and the NEBOSH C cert doesnt specialise on just scaffolding.

What do you need for the supervisers card NVQ 4 ? And is the NEBOSH C Cert equivalent to gaining a NVQ 4 qualification? i would double check it all mate.

Regards
Paddy

Don't know much about the NEBOSH/IOSH route to a supervisors qualification so can't comment.

IMO opinion the CCSNG safety pass passport 1 day supervisor add on is the best option especially if you plan on self funding . Like many of my fellow scaffs I like to chase the $$$$$ and find myself flitting between the Industrial and Commercial sectors.

Unlike the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS Certificate) the CCSNG (Supervisor) is accepted in both sectors . If you shop around the 2 day safety passport plus the one day supervisor add on can be achieved for around the same price as the SSSTS.

If your CCSNG qualification is ever questioned on a construction site explain that it falls within the parameters of acceptable supervisors safety training as laid down by the UKCG http://www.ukcg.org.uk/fileadmin/do...sor_Training_Standards_-SR_version_Sept09.pdf . NASC is a member of the group along with all the major players.

Also if your CISRS is up for renewal you don't have do the touch screen if your safety passport is up to date.

Regards Podger :)

already got the safety passport & its still in date, i will ring up cisrs & ask if i need to fork out for another h&s touch screen test.

paddy i just fancied having a supervisors card, sets you apart from the advanced guys thats all & nebosh construction is icing on the cake.:D

CISRS supervisor card

I did the CISRS supervisor course in Jan this year (5days) then had to do the H&S touch screen test for supervisor before they will give you your card.

The other thing is it does not replace your advance card :eek:you end up with 2 cards 1 advance & 1 supervisor both gold cards therefore you end up paying for 2 cards when they expire (rip off):(

thanks to all, surpose you pay your money and take your chance, sad thing is a name and a face is sometimes more than enough, its a unfair way but thats how it goes, you just have to keep at it
