Can you still brace off the hand rail, if you brace every standard. the job is only 17 ft high
foot tie
2m first lift double braced
2m second lift braced off h/rail every standard
1m third lift braced every other as normal
i was told to day that you you carnt brace off the h/rail any more

the job is timber frame . size wise its 40 x 30 x 40 x 30 long and top lift is 5.1 m off slab i know it was allowed a few years ago , have the rules changed

Node Point ( Ledger / Transom intersection ) bracing should not be fixed to a Node Point more that 1 ft higher than the Node Point---Bracing angle should not exceed 45 degrees and under 35 Degrees.

Bracing off Handrail

Simmo

Bracing from the handrail is still allowed in TG:20 08

Section2 6.2 Ledger Bracing States

'Ledger bracing from the inside ledger to the principal guardrail level of the lift below may be used on unclad fully boarded scaffolds provided that every pair of standards is so braced instead of every alternate pair'

Hope this helps and saves you a job on Tuesday!!
