AN Edinburgh-based building firm faces four health and safety charges relating to a site in the Borders.
Scotcare Preservation Limited of Ettrick Road is accused of failing to ensure the scaffolding was safe on the construction site in Scott Street, Galashiels, Selkirkshire, between 5 December, 2007 and 16 December, 2008.

The firm is also charged with two other breaches of the Health and Safety at Work Act relating to a lack of training for staff and also an offence under the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Michael Couch, 54, a director of the firm has also been charged under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

The case at Selkirk Sheriff Court was continued without plea until 17 August.
