might be of interest to someone,

my mate is currently clearing a factory down south , thought they had been using scaffold tube as somekind of machinery framework , so thought he could sell loads but he thinks its only 44mm in diameter, so bit peeved when i told him to re check it as so far as im aware scaffold tube is 48mm diameter an wall 4mm .

there is hundreds of 2m 4m an 6m lengths so i said i would ask on here to A) confirm im right and you dont get 4mm variation in tube diameter in scaffold

B) does anyone have a use for 44mm galv tube for any kind of other uses than scaffold .

As far as I know, all scaffold tube is 48.3mm od. Maybe this tube has been used with kee clamps. You know the type you use for permanent handrails?

Ya mate.
A scaffolding tube is generally 48.3mm in diameter.

Maybe, if they are 44mm, try a company that specialises in Safety Handrail like - SafeSite or Edgeguard/TRAD Saftey Systems.

They generally use standard scaffolding tube for their handrails, but i know that the fittings they use, like Key Clamps that can be ordered for smaller diameter tubes.

I hope this helps.
Jay.

Right again Super..48. something lol. 40mm inside dims

He could sell it to Ikram or the poles, they wouldnt know the difference, state of some jobs going on around here
