When they are open doesnt the bottom rail of the gate make a handrail. Then the loader can load the platform then you shut the gate & its handrailed..

You could use an up and over gate.

We have had the same problem in the past.

We got round it by fixing a tube across the top of the two arms so when the gate is open, the tube comes down at handrail level.

I've tried to show the idea on your drawing (if you can see it)

Obviously you'll have to work out where it needs to go to provide a handrail at the right height when the gate is open.

Hope this helps

Had the same idea myself, but the lads say it clashes with the load, still gonna give it a try myself

Thanks Phil, these are the ones we will probably get in future, but for now we have loads of the other bloody type!

Easily supplied. 2 fixed sizes available. System @ 2.4m -ANY type - or Tube @ 3.3m. Gravity operation that leaves a double tubular handrail in place at rear when opened to stop egress and protect leading edge. Even work within a 2.0m lift ! - ideal for timber frame build etc.....
