Broken Gravlok

never seen that before , was it a uk made or an import ??

Oh right thought a lot of boulton stuff made overseas

A lot of fittings have all the stamps on but are manufactured in other countries like china or eastern Europe. It just means their factories are audited to the standard. Im not sure if every one knows but fittings are only batch tested which could be 5 in 1000 being done. I have never seen anything like this though as gravloks are a strong fitting

Seen this before. The batch we had was a fault line in the casting. Had to send them all back as they were all from the same batch. 2000 of them.

Any date sheet you put out PM me if you can will be good for tool bad talk and stir the **** up before I go off loads of big hangers out here at the min.

Was the fitting used correctley before this application??
If you look at the break the fitting was damaged prior to it being installed this time. The dark line on the inside of the radius indicates old damage, it looks like the fitting was cold formed over too tight a radius.
This used to be a regular problem with Cuplok transoms many years ago the "U" shaped transom ends would fail when loaded.
