Actually not, mate.
ALL of our scaffolders and labourers are 100% directly employed on a PAYE basis.
We also put all our trainee's and scaffolders through the correct training as required, and pay them whilst they are doing the training.
So no, it's NOT people in 'my position' who bring agencies in in the first place. I spent 15 years on the spanners and never once felt the need to even consider speaking to an agency for work. Just like I would not consider employing agency labour in my position as a manager.
It's a false economy anyway. Get decent lads, pay them well and provide them with the equipment and training they need to do the job safely & efficiently. Or use nomadic agency and sub-contract labour and recieve poor performance, a high turnover of lads and a lack of control.
I know which one I'll be sticking with, thank you.
Who brings Agencies in then Phil?
They fly in on Magic Carpet do they..??
I never said YOU.
I said people in your position, ie: Scaffolding Management. or am i wrong and these Agencies are forcing Firms to employ them at £25 an hour, when they wont pay their own men £18...??
So whats this?? I had that clown Fred yesterday and now i gotta deal with his sidekick??
Why does NO ONE on this Forum tell it how it is.
Scaffold Firms bring in the Agencies, for one reason or another.
Scaffold Workers do NOT.
