We are seeking on behalf of our client a Scaffold Coordinator to lead and be responsible for all onsite scaffold and access activities regarding the Client’s project in the North East of England.
Location: North East England
Start Date: 26-Jan-2015
End Date: 31-Dec-2015
Hours: 10 hour days, 5 days a week
Day rate: Negotiable
Suitable Applicants:
Suitable applicants will have a minimum 10 years experience in Site Supervision in a similar environment including Scaffold and Access Coordination. Verifiable experience in the use of MS Office packages. Proven analytical skills for problem solving and providing solutions Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to work to any client charter values. Foster good relationships and team working ethic with sub-contract teams to promote safe working practices and efficiency Candidate must possess relevant qualification or professional certifications A demonstrated strong commitment to Safety Possesses good oral and written English skills required to function effectively within an international project team and to communicate with Project Management Contractors and Sub-contractors. Innovation and flexibility to consider all possible solutions. Excellent level of initiative.
Responsibilities: Supervise construction-related scaffold work activities Maintain schedule and cost control within assigned field functions of the project Plan and monitor required work activities to ensure that design drawings, tools, equipment, materials are available Read and understand drawings, contract plans and specifications Implementation and Management of Safe working conditions Develop and maintain open communications with Field Engineers/Co-ordinators, HSE, QA/QC Monitor man-hour productivity on a weekly basis Lead and participate in planning sessions with both the client and its contractors.
Experience with
“Last Planner
” planning tool would be an advantage Coordinates the activities of contractors performing work within a discipline Ensures that subordinates are trained and knowledgeable of specifications and work procedures Inspect scaffold holdings for compliance to local and industry standards Introduce and maintain a scaffold inspection system comprising weekly checks of all erected scaffold. Participate in audits, inspections and safety observation tours . Comply with client procedures and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed with full regard to Safety Health and Environment Understand and ensure that Sub-contractors comply with key safe systems of work such as but not limited to:
• Recognition, risk Assessment & Mitigation of hazards
• Authorised scaffold access
• Quarantined scaffold
• Tool Box Talks
• PPE
• Rigging, slinging & lifting techniques
• Working at heights
• Dropped objects & Trip Hazards
• Excavations Liaise with Project Engineers on scaffold and access issues.
Report all HSE incidents and advise and assist on incident investigations Provide technical input in to work packs. Provide expertise in own discipline as technical authority to support Training and design, construct and certify scaffold in support of maintenance and turnaround operations
