can anyone give us any imput am workin on price even though am contracted to 39 hours per week .weve been given a job that took 8 hours but was told only woth 65 pound each doesnt even cover our hourly rate ???
 
Sounds like the usual crap of price when it suits have you no fallback/dayrate agreement with your employer
 
have a minimum hourly rate m8 which we say we should get regardless for our hours worked ??
 
Should ask whats the price on the job before you do it, if you agree, then its down to you to do it in the time you thought it would take, if the price is not right stay on your hourly rate, as you said, your contract is 39 hours.
 
basicly said no money on job u have 2 do it u get wot its worth load of toss if u ask me

Someone fcucked up on pricing the job STU, looks like their buying the work.
 
Aye mate, i can concur, been on price for 33 years. You get nowt for nowt, the price is based on normally, grafting your T1ts off, for just above your hourly rate. Now in this day and age, there is a 'Spanish Inquisition' if you manage to make more than Time and a Half.

It is not too bad, if you are based on the same job for a while, as you can score for the extras, for altering and adaption. However, if you are job to job on price, your on a hiding to nowt mate.

price work is fine dave mate its the only way i have ever worked , trouble is like brandy says someone fu cks up pricing it and the lads will normally get knocked. There is a lot of job buying going on at the moment so the money aint on the jobs from the start. Always used to hate striking on price as there is often no money left on the job andthe striking money has been robbed to pay for unforseen stuff along the way.
 
i have done price mate you get 3 good weeks then it starts 100 pound goes missin and on and on it goes to pay 4 the **** lads so 4 me it gets the fook off daywork or nothing

ive worked on price for 40year ,and all they give you is a load of s--t,dont listen to its all weve got for it ,they pay the price they think ,not what they have got,anything to rob you
 
Price should be based on half of 70% total when erecting and half of 30% total when dismantling

why have you put up with it for forty year then pal?
you obviously havnt priced a job to 1. win it, 2.to keep people employed, 3.to make a massive profit, its swings and roundabouts some clients pay £25 p/m some pay £15 p/m.
some companys do rob the men but not all, some men don't keep their part of the bargain, ie finishing the job properly 100%.
not a go mate just my opinion, its hard to put it in words without sounding like a tw@t
 
All I can say is all our lads are on a day rate regardless of what they do....and...it works.

In regard to price...some have mentioned before, get your price agreed BEFORE you undertake the work, or more simply, can you not agree a metre run rate for erect or dismantle? No grey areas then the measure is the measure...its as simple as that..

Finally...Welcome to the forums I hope you get as much out of it as we all do :)
 
i always get robbed on complicated jobs that take time , i do alright on straight forward independent but my last 2 jobs have been a temporary roof and a hanger over a motor way , im one of the only ones that can do these jobs so have been getting them .because there isnt a lot of metres in them my wages have been sh!t . so idiots throwing back and fronts up are getting paid more than me . time for a new job me thinks
