I was out of work at Christmas when I came back from Vancouver and even applied at royal mail and boots as things were that bad. Luckily I got a start somewhere else and that was on proper wan.k money. But like the poster says above, you gotta make ends meet to keep the wolf from the door, especially at Christmas.
 
Also a lot of the wage snobs I've met never see there families and think living the dream is an eighty hour week followed by a sub on Monday morning,wouldn't knock any man working for ten quid an hour,five hundred notes a week can give a good lifestyle and keep the kids fed and warm then that's a life worth living,,,,I'm not working for that ,,,,,have a word with yourself u sound like those nineties supermodels !

I dont know if that was aimed at me,no i dont think i am a wage snob by any means,but the money most of them are offering is a joke, and yes i have had a word with myself and decided i will not work for sh1t money.
 
well said if all the same in thinkin agences would ave to pay more,instead of creaming all the profits for themselfs,,stand by ur guns mate,,

The only problem with that is the fact the rate offered will no doubt be taken by some poor desperate sod this time of the year.

I wouldnt work for that rate myself, but the old saying that its 'better than the dole' isnt the issue here..
If you are getting basic benefits paid for, then it isnt much better working for a rate like that.
But when you are applying for state benefit and it takes a poxy six weeks + for it to get sorted out, thats when you turn to desperate measures and some of these agencies know that.
If anyone is looking for work in work in the midlands area and are working from agencies, then I suggest the better paying ones like Fortel, based in Wolverhampton. I am not advertising this agency for my own gain, its just that they have always paid well and the money was always in the bank fri morning. They will give you the going rate in the area at least.
