I am a Part 1 and I'm finding it really, really hard to find work. I'm from Middlesbrough and I'm a grafter. I just cant seem to get my foot in the door anywhere and prove myself. Has any one got any tips (apart from constantly phoning around, emailing cv's). Everyone seems to looking for at least part 2's.

I'm becoming disheartened :unsure:
 
Hang on in there mate you will get a break , try walking into yards and asking on a regular basis , people like lads that are keen. Good luck with it mate :)
 
I'm not sure what the work situation is in boro but a lot of lads will be looking to get on at Redcar so the local firms might lose some lads there, so as Phillomaximus has said just keep trying and hopefully you'll get a break good luck anyway.

middlesbrough / grafter , same sentence , im confused . willies right though alot of lads will be jumping so keep at them try project also they are middlesbrough based and been taking on this week
 
Get ya basic done mate you will have more chance or try get in a gang with a basic and advance worth a try.
 
I didnt think a part 1 was officialy a scaffolder, its like half way there aint it?

I havnt been a part 1 for 6 month yet so I cant go get my Basic. Thanks anyway though.

Nice one TeessideScaff, but Ive tried nearly all of them.
