Mission and Purpose of Role: Calculate the cost of tenders and prepare tender prices to provide the most beneficial return on the resources employed for each contract. Responsible for the monthly valuation of all contract work assigned in relation to projects.
Key Objectives of the Role: Prepare estimates in response to enquiries received as directed within the Company value parameters and in accordance with Company estimating procedures with the use of the CASE application.
Detail all materials, plant and equipment necessary to achieve each contract specifications.
Identify potential factors that both adversely and beneficially influence the cost of delivering the contracts.
Review tender results and maintain comprehensive records for access with future pricing opportunities.
Ensure contracts are on acceptable terms and conditions and are subsequently adhered to.
Measure and control preparation and submission of rate schedules. Monitor and quantify work carried out during the month and prepare final valuations as necessary.
Reconcile monthly management accounts.
Oversee & ensure all valuations are prepared accurately, agreed and invoiced appropriately.
Achieve ongoing account certification and resolution of account queries on overdue accounts and final account settlement.
Assist Credit control section where valuation differences are preventing debt collection as they fall due.
Ensure accurate document control procedures operated in compliance with quality and audit requirements.
Job Level Overview and Accountabilities: Process- Ensure CASE application is comprehensively utilised.
Maintain history database information sources for prompt construction of estimates.
Accurate and timely input for major Network Rail tenders and completion of target cost analysis.
Financial- Ensure accurate quantities, costs and prices are indentified for all elements of the estimated price build up.
Identify and assess cost risks to the estimates of potential associated issues.

Knowledge and Applied Skills: Estimating and surveying experience preferably gained in a scaffolding access subcontractor or main contractor environment.
Contract experience gained in Network Rail construction environment.
Network Rail database experience.
Comprehensive understanding of the CASE application.
Extensive capability in the use of Word and Excel packages.
Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances to achieve business objectives, including ready access to the central London location, working unsocial and varied hours associated with possessions and for other project demands
