It goes beyond a pricing war for Agencies atm... it comes down to down-right greed.
I know for a FACT that most of them charge anywhere between £25-£35 an hour for Advanced Scaffolder.

Not a bad return considering they dont supply any PPE, equipment, transport or even have to employ someone to run the payroll. Its all out-sourced to payroll Firms like The Guild.
Id bet 'in theory' you could run an Agency straight off an iPad.

All get together then and agree a rate you will work for. If anyone undercuts then you will see them on the site and deal with it.

Fair comment jason. But maths slightly out - that maybe what they charge in the smoke...but the last time we used RHL they charged us £18.60 for a basic & £22 for an advanced- @ first glance it didnt seem to bad, but with vat on top i felt a little bit raped - i think they were paying the scaff £14 &£16 respectivly...& tbh the standard of the guys they supplied left a lot to be desired - however with the employment laws as they stand . It doesnt leave many options open to the small buisiness if you want to opperate within the laws- i thought you used agencys to find work , how do you find the rates they pay...there must be some decent ones or are they all painted wiv the same brush
