What's the SWL of a jointed up beam? Got a job to put up will be a 8m and 4m joined together, unsupported length of 10m. Just the one working lift

There's no SWL for this set up without a design. The maximum span for a beam is 6m and that's using a 610 deep beam. That been said, I have seen a lot worse than that configuration work.
 
Hi Scaff101, depends on which beams you have, but it should have the same moment capacity as an unjointed beam, refer to suppliers data sheet. unless its a very light duty (0.75kN/m2) scaffold its unliklely to be provable. Suggest you contact whoever you use for design for a quick sketch and some number in support
