NYCC County Hall in Northallerton is a Grade II-listed building and is over 100 years old, and has been home to North Yorkshire County Council since 1974.

Tiger Scaffolding’s brief for its involvement in the restoration and repair of the building specified that no weight could be placed on the roof and that no scaffold could be tied into the building.

The firm created a bespoke free-standing scaffold which acted as support for a temporary roof, which contained nearly 45,000 ft of scaffold tube, more than 30,000 scaffold fittings, nearly 50,000 ft of scaffold planks and nearly 500 m of structural X beams, creating an exceptionally large-scale free-standing scaffold.

Bit of a challenge for the design team. Well done to the scaffs, looks rather complex.
