I call it the " Groundhog Day " Syndrome .
Every morning starts with me taking the same labourer into the fitting shed and saying " this is a double " ..... after a couple of years it does get a bit tedious
It amazes me that the training bodies believe that you can take a lad off the street and turn him into an advanced scaffolder in 18 months

Hi Topscaff
Sorry for the slow reply, but I was on holiday when your products were returned and when you posted this information on the forum.
I have spoken to the manufacturer in question on your behalf and the gist of the response I received was as follows;
These spanners were amongst a batch of 500 sold in the UK. Apart from the spanners in question, none of the other spanners sold from this batch have been returned, therefore not indicating a manufacturing error.
Wear of the colour on the handles is to be expected as stated on the BuyBrandTools website, however wear and tear on the chrome heads is unusual during such as short period of use.
These spanners go through a lengthy production process, which involves the thorough cleaning of the heads before the chrome plating is adhered, to minimise the likelihood of chipping. However during periods of heavy use, chipping may occur.
As this cosmetic issue is due to wear and tear, rather than a manufacturing error, on this occasion the manufacturer cannot replace the products in question.
Best Regards
Neil

Thanks for taking the time to look further into it for me Neil .
The colour on the handles was not really the issue as we were aware of this when buying , however , for the manufacturer to say that the chrome peeling off after only a few hours use is due to wear and tear is , quite frankly an insult .
Had i bought these spanners for a fiver off a market stall i would expect them to last longer than these , the pins are clearly not strong enough and are stretching already , the steel on the inside of the sockets is nowhere near hard enough to withstand the use it is designed and intended for - the teeth have started to round off already after only a day or two of use . The two Scaffolders who used them both reported numerous times of the spanner slipping off the fitting and as we all know , that is how knuckles are broken and teeth are lost .
Maybe we were just unlucky with these spanners , but , for the manufacturer to refuse a replacement or a refund is beyond a joke .
We are not a big company by any means , but , we are a point of contact for many other small companies in our area when it comes to buying tools and accessories for the trade . We have used Leach`s in the past for all of our tools , but , found they were a little more expensive than other suppliers so we took a chance on trying some of these Priory tools . It goes to show that you get what you pay for and we will continue to use Leach`s for future purchases .
Thanks again for your time Neil , much appreciated .
Jason

Hi Jason
I am not happy that we have an unsatisfied customer, and we have spoken to the manufacturer for a 3rd time and they have agreed to inspect the spanners again for you.
As I have previously said, we have sold around a hundred of the aforementioned spanners and we have had plenty of good feedback and no other complaints, maybe it is just bad luck, but we would like to get this situation resolved.
If you would like us to send the spanners back for another inspection then please let me know, and we will arrange this for you.
Just to let you know, not only do we sell Priory spanners, we sell the entire range of IMN spanners at highly competitive prices.
Best Regards
Neil

I know scaffolders who have been running a gang for eight years and cant do a basic scaffold. if this is the case how the hell is the labourer supposed to learn, the scaff is too busy concentrating on putting the job up to teach the labourer how labour in the right order let alone how to start out on the spanners!

Thanks Neil , i will send them back again . Please let me know where to send them .
I will be sticking with IMN in future for spanners . I have been using a Priory podger for the last 12 years without any issues and it does get used heavily as we use a lot of D.H`s ( great fittings for braces , but , i`ve only ever encountered 1 other company using them ) .
Cheers
Jason

Just avoid Priory spanners.
They are terrible tools.
Out of the 3 that I have bought, (from a local supplier) 2 had fallen to pieces within 2 weeks, they're very poor quality. Stick to the quality brands like IMN.
