Clipping on is not the answer. he was working alone and may have fell off the ladder so clipping on was out the question. Was he carrying matirial up the ladder.? why was there a lack of hand rail ? (as stated in the report) its work ethics such as this that results in all scaffolders having to find safer work methods.
I wonder Was a risk assessment made,or did the lad sign a method staement, could an advanced guardrail have been used,
I wonder did any of the levels have a single guardrail in place.
If they did then it must have been the only scaffold in the Hastings area that did
Clipping on does not stop you from falling off in the first place.!
it just stops you hitting the floor..... provided the height of the clipping on point is sufficient,
Stop taking chances lads ,work safe and have the sence to realise if your being asked to work unsafe by your boss.
Until site workers stop thinking health and safety is a waste of time and working in a safe manor is un-cool this will continue to happen ........to someone else.
Remember to me YOU! are someone else
